Backtracking a little since I didn’t have time earlier.

Day 8, May 24th
Started the morning from Lone Pine where you still could see snow on the Sierra Nevada mountains in the west:
Some long lonely highways heading for the heat:
Overviewing the first valley:
Down inside it we started getting hot, was hard dried clay outside the tarmac:
Had a break at Stovepipe Wells to fuel up and buy drinks and eat a little:
Had a big bird land begging for food:
Some walking path in Death Valley and people actually went walking, was hot enough as it was traveling on a motorcycle:
Old ruins:
Further down the road they had some tourist place where they had put a really old school tractor on display:
Taking some side trail getting out through some sandy hills:
More lonely highways:
Entering the state of Nevada:
And the suite at the Imperial Palace we ended up in, a bit pricier then we had planned but we made up for it the next morning, see post about day 9:
