Another old accessory for the KTM 950, a quick mount top box made out of a small pelican case. While they don’t come cheap, they are water proof and come with foam if you ever want to ride with expensive equipment.
Made L-shaped pieces from thick hard plastic on a table saw.
Drilled holes and mounted on the stock luggage plate and matching pieces under the box:
They interlock with each other:
An old saw lost it’s life in the making of this:
A tab was made that hooked onto a hole in the luggage plate:
And how it looked when finished:
Later I also made a larger box that fits the same mount that is a copy of a Pelican case that runs for about $120. Reason I went for a copy is because a true Pelican in Sweden is 4x as much as in the States.
Here I had plans on making some fancy piece that held it in place that locked under the seat but that didn’t turn out that good so just used a small luggage strap to stop it from sliding back.
